Prelude and Toccata by John Kinsella was commissioned by the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble specifically for their performance in the opening concert of the WASBE 2007 Conference in Killarney, Ireland. The world premiére performance was conducted by James Cavanagh and was very well received.
