Peace by Peace - Shareware Fee 75 cents per choir member

This piece has the troubles in Northern Ireland as its' subject.  Although the content might be considered to be controversial,  its' main focus is a request that we live together, as we do as Europeans, in peace.  The title is just one of a number of "play on words" contained in this short song.  It was written for the Mullingar Choral Society and first performed by them on December 31st, 1999.

In order for you to decide if this piece is for you, the lyrics (©1999 OCMP) are as follows:

The Past
A dark and dreary place
where the strands of difference have killed many souls
All of different colours
All of one land
and All of one God

But let us now not see red, not see or'nge, nor see green
For what worth is history
if it not be the cornerstone of some new time

The Present
A time of great change
Where bitterness lingers
Amid the will to prosper and to grow
And the building blocks of the future are made by men

The Future
We all have seen and been part of
Let us use the light from the circle of the stars
To open our eyes
And upon its' bright blue banner
Proclaim a new beginning
For our Land
A new family of Ireland

To hope to heal
Peace by Peace
